Forensic imaging
As a modern procedure, radiological forensic imaging forms a fixed link in the processing chain of forensic medical examinations. It is used both post-mortem, i.e. on the deceased, and on living patients.
The cooperation of forensic radiological imaging between the Institute of Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology, Director Prof. Dr. T. Vogl, and the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the University Hospital Frankfurt under the direction of Prof. Dr. M. Verhoff, has for decades complemented the imaging part of one of the most efficient forensic medical institutes in Germany.
High-quality examinations in high-resolution are possible with the most modern equipment. For this purpose, examinations in the fields of projection radiography, computer tomography as well as magnetic resonance imaging are performed. Modern forensic analysis is fed by this multitude of special procedures in order to bring together an overall view of the facts. Forensic radiological imaging can thus make an important contribution to the clarification of even complex facts and expand the forensic medical workup by essential points.
